On January 31, 1971 Apollo 14 blasted off to the Moon. On board were Astronauts Stuart Roosa, Ed Mitchell, and Alan Shepard. Each astronaut brought along a small number of personal items. Stuart Roosa, a smoke jumper before becoming an astronaut, brought along a canister full of tree seeds. These seeds were later germinated and given out all over the USA as part of our country's Bicentennial celebration. Our Moon Tree is one of those original trees. This website is devoted to our wonderful Moon Tree!
